Not many couples can claim they’ve loved each other for half their lives before they get married. Sabrina and Daniel are one such rare couple.

From the day he was smitten by her, primary six both - he from the balcony of the school block singing the Majulah Singapura, and she the conducting in the central parade square to the recorded national anthem.

Memories and passions are such powerful human traits, that fourteen years later, they started to plan their wedding together. Same primary school belies the different background they brought to each other, but love is that common identity they share.

As the celebrant, I always plan with couples early and a couple of times to finalise proceedings. Reason : By the time I officiate* at their wedding ceremonies, we’d all be more than mere acquaintances. I like to bring stories to couples, the kind that inspire me to craft out after meeting them, and to repay in kind, on their wedding day presentation. 

First meeting with Sabrina & Daniel, I was greeted by their hospitality at home, and a marvelous piece of marble cake. Michelle, the wedding planner Zoomed in, to keep the pandemic rules enforced.  The second meeting was even more relaxed, with Michelle running things, and I felt I had already known them all for a while. Which I did. I knew we were set up for a great event.
