Remembrance
Humans are remarkable - not only do we have the ability to think on our toes and react to situations, we are also blessed with the ability to remember memorable memories (three forms of the word with the same etymology) , and to celebrate generally when the Earth & the Sun are in the same relative position in the universe.
The lives that we live, in the span of a few decades, are filled with many special occasions. Even the departure of a loved one, can be seen to be the culmination of his or her life , and is worth commemorating, even celebrating.
No two lives are the same. Not even close.
